Ayhan and I ventured to Hoboken, N.J., to the highrise apartment of his 20+-year-plus friend Serap and husband Kamu, for July 4th festivities. They live on the 11th floor in a building that overlooked all four of the Macy's fireworks barges—which, in the previous few years, were visible from our nabe in Brooklyn Heights. Watching from our destination—in addition to plentiful beverages and sustenance—was the best yet.
Note the helicopters flying across the NYC skyline. Plenty of security, and cops in boats all over the Hudson...
