The Dress, The Gloves, Blah Blah Blah

In some circles, there's more talk about Michelle Obama's yellow lace suit by Isabel Toledo than the inauguration itself. While fashion is important for a First Lady—and I think Mrs. Obama is a knockout here—it's more an issue when the prez's wife has no style. Take poor Laura Bush, who dressed as if she were staging a shack for sale (low-impact, no personalization, wholly neutral) and Rosslyn Carter ("Hey, y'all, my huzbin'z a man of the people, so if I dress from Sears, y'all cin relate to heme"). I love the fact that Michelle's gloves came from J. Crew. Shows she's not too fussy (Read: Nancy Reagan).
