I first caught a glimpse of Sean Maguire in "Meet the Spartans," the goof spoof of "300," which is packed with homoerotic humor, stuffed crotches and bleached teeth—my kind of flick! The 33-year-old British actor first found fame in a BBC children's drama, moved to "EastEnders," and then scored a number of music hits as a youngster. In America, he first appeared in the dreadful UPN sitcom "Eve" and then CBS' "The Class," whatever that is.
Maguire is now starring in the new Comedy Central series, "Krod Mandoon," set in medieval times, offset by modern vernacular. It's pretty ridiculous, and for sure, I'm still waiting for him to take his shirt off (hello Comedy Central execs), but the show is entertaining enough to foster a Tivo season pass... for now. The humor is over the top, it's only a half hour of our lives a week, but when you've got a man as fine as this—with a bod we've already seen from head to toe in "Spartans"—can we have a little more sex appeal, please? I have a distinct feeling that the network would only be serving its primary demo, see what I'm saying.
