In addition, NYC Mayor Bloomberg has ordered evacuation of low-lying areas of New York, including Battery Park City and stretches of the West Side waterfront, the Lower East Side and East Village in Manhattan.The storm is being called dangerous and potential devastating, with water rising as high as 10 feet in lower Manhattan, Long Island, Coney Island, Staten Island and into New York Harbor.
