Liz's good friend Leonard took me to Easthampton Saturday evening for a gay tea at The Lodge... To be honest, it was a bit of a relief to see the gays gathered together after nearly a month in the Hamptons, which is so white and straight, I feel like I'm back in Lynchburg sometimes (not to mention the propensity of plaid. There really are a good many similarities to the old money of the south).
Surprise! Dance sensation Joi Cardwell, whom I've known since the days of the Billboard Dance Conference in the late 1990s—and a dear friend of my good friend Larry Flick—was hanging at The Lodge with her girlfriend. Nice chat.
After tea, Leonard drove me around Easthampton—where he actually grew up... uh, not in this house.
Nor this one. But check out the flowering hydraenga bush!
To the beach, where a group of kids were hanging by a bonfire.
And then home, where Liz was entertaining guests: model and rapper(!) Jeremiah and his friend Ryan. Yes, honest to god, Jeremiah did a Dentyne commercial... which is no surprise, with those bee-a-u-tiful teefs... For that matter, everything this man's got is right fine.
