Liz D.'s delightful and talented friend Lynn Matsuoka graces the cover of the Aug. 21 Dan's Paper, with her painting honoring the upcoming Hampton Classic Horse Show, which kicks off Aug. 23. In a Q&A in the issue, she talks about her inspiration for the composition: "First, the work includes representative icons: The figure on a horse shows people in action, which is a signature of mine. The Jaguar stands for the Classic's richness. The tent and the folds of the horse blend into each other to communicate a connection."
Lynn's original claim to fame are her drawings of Japanese Sumo wrestlers, as well as a quick-on-the-"draw" reportage artist, who covered the Watergate hearings—along with portraits, sports figures and pets. See more
