Devastating Decimation in Oz
It's more than a little irritating that the U.S. is consumed with Chris Brown bitch-slapping Rihanna and Alex Rodriguez doing what rich athletes do—steroids—rather than giving more than a passing glance to the devastation in Australia. Arsonists set brushfires that have all but decimated Victoria, killing 186 people. The stories of people trying to escape the fires, only to be overtaken by flames coming at them from all sides, frightens the snark right out of me.

It's sickening and makes my heart ache for those folks.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend there who let me know one of her best friends was found dead in his car along with his brother. Like you said- trying to escape, but nowhere to go.
