There was much to celebrate with Tinatin tonight, cool cats! First, she is turning the big 25 March 8 and second, the outstanding news earlier today that "Is It True," a song she co-wrote, will represent Iceland in the May Eurovision contest.
What makes this feat all the more salient is that the host of this year's pageant is Moscow—and Georgia-born Tinatin is a Russian citizen. So she has two beacons shining in her honor when she attends Eurovision: representing both Iceland and Russia. T'tin told Ayhan Sahin and me that she's already had press clawing to tell her story... So meanwhile, we couldn't wait to share as our dinner destination Emilio's Ballato on Houston—the restaurant that Larry Dvoskin introduced to Ayhan and me in late January...
You know, if you're lucky, there are a special few folks in your life who bring out your best—they make you comfortable to be all of you. Tinatin's one of those. Much laughter, smiling, warm fucking fuzzies and a non-stop barrage of back-and-forth storytelling. That's good living.
