We're Moving!
In my dreams... The jaw-dropping 30-room Cordts mansion is on the market in upstate Kingston, N.Y., for a tasty $2.7 million, and on display at brownstoner. It was built in 1873, with 9 bedrooms, 9 baths and 7 fireplaces. It reminds me of some of the homes I grew up with in Lynchburg, Va., only, you know, it's not in Lynchburg, Va. I want. The Carriage House, which is likely four times larger than my apartment in Brooklyn. Sigh...Well, I'm still holding out hope that we're going to win the HGTV Dream House on March 15 in Sonoma, Calif. A boy's gotta hold on to something...

I had the pleasure of attending many events here while my friends Don and Robert owned the place a few years ago. They offered a wedding service here as well as a B&B.
ReplyDeleteThey had since sold the place to my friend Hunt who has his eye on another property in Hyde Park. Another piece of history in Dutchess County.
If you find some free time and you're driving distance of Kingston, NY check out the historic sites in this area. Kingston is New Yorks first capital and has a number of original buildings still standing from the 16th century.
Current issues in the Kingston area?
