Tinatin's Tell-All Tuesday

Last evening, Tinatin hosted a reading from her upcoming memoir, which I am co-authoring and together, we have been working on for the better part of a year. I served as MC for the event, introducing the singer, songwriter, radio personality, journalist—and now, author.

Tina hosted the event at cool, hipster joint Bowery Poetry Club, which was a joy to hear aloud—and to witness audience reaction—as she shared Chapter 1. Afterward, she entertained questions and even responded to a request to sing her 2009 Eurovision triumph "Is It True" acapella.

In the audience: her parents, visiting from Moscow; Ayhan; and Karine. Coming up: a second reading with vocal showcase at Cornelia Cafe Aug. 19. Can't wait.T & meese before the action began.
