Caught indie flick City Island last night, filmed on the little inlet off the Bronx, starring Andy Garcia and Julianna Margulies, with featured player Steven Strait. Mad new crush, cool cats. The native New Yorker enrolled himself at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting to pursue his craft but was lapped up as a model while still a teenager, appearing in Details and Vogue, photographed by Bruce Weber and Herb Ritts.
At 18, Strait moved to California and was cast in horror movie The Covenant, which also starred Chace Crawford. Next major role was in 10,000 BC, before City Island in 2010, where he played a convict with a good heart in the dramedy.
Now, 25, the Dutch/Italian actor is filming a TV series in development, Magic City, due in 2012, which centers on 50s' Miami Beach mobsters. Let's hope the talented—and oh-so-easy-on-the-eyes—actor works his way to marquee fame. He is married to actress Lynn Collins, best known for her role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
