In 2000, cutie boxing champ and Gold Medal Olympian Oscar De La Hoya decided to put up a fight for chart dominance, and released a self-titled CD that included 13 tracks in English and Spanish.
The single was a soft-spoken but appealing cover of the Bee Gees' "Run To Me." The song was never much of a hit, but the album, surprisingly, garnered a Latin Grammy Award nod.
I met De La Hoya—who tuned 38 on Feb. 4—at a record label luncheon upon the release of the album. He's a shortie, but awfully dreamy!
