Tom Ford: 'Interview' At Last Fronts A Man
Interview magazine has a long history of fronting its covers with B-grade female celebrities... as if men aren't doing as much for fashion and entertainment. Over the past year, the still-lively rag—which I have long subscribed to—has indulged the likes of Kristen Stewart, Naomi Campbell, Blake Lively, Megan Fox, Marion Cotillard(?), Lara Stone(?!) and Penelope Cruz, as well as A-listers Madonna and Rihanna—while only two men have graced the cover: Jay-Z and Ryan Gosling. At last, in the new February 2011 issue, a true fashion icon appears frontside, with Tom Ford, former creative director for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, head of his own menswear label and film director, helming "The Men's Issue." Not only is the guy unapologetically brash (a good thing), but he's a proud, out gay man. It's about time.
