There She Is, Miss America: Wisconsin Takes The 2012 Tiara

Just in case you weren't one of the 36 people that tuned in to the 91st-annual Miss America pageant Saturday night, the winner was Miss Wisconsin, Laura Kaeppeler, 23. This is the first time Wisconsin nabbed the tiara since 1972. Kaeppeler also won the talent competition for her operatic rendition of "Il Bacio" by

Luigi Arditi.

The annual contest took place at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson came in second while Miss New York Kaitlyn Monte placed third. Kaeppeler replaces the youngest Miss America in history, last year's victor Teresea Scanlan, 17, from Nebraska.
