Kylie's Spectacular NYC Spectacle

It's hard to believe that in her 20 years as a pop superstar, Kylie Minogue has never mounted a proper U.S. tour. Of course, it's also difficult to fathom that U.S. radio is so dim-witted that she's only had two real hits in all that time: "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and "I Should Be So Lucky."

Her U.S. tour touched down in seven gay-friendly cities, including three nights in New York. Andy from Philly—perhaps the only straight man in the audience—drove up Monday and we ventured to Hammerstein Ballroom for the spectacle.

Kylie did not disappoint. Our girl was mesmerizing, dazzling with special effects galore, a songlist that satiated every level of fan-dom and proved what we've known for decades: She is a consummate entertainer. Absolutely extraordinary evening. In the audience: Hugh Jackman...And Alan Cumming...

Counting Down The Hits

Bob, Tim and Donna came over Saturday night for a third-quarter top 40 countdown of our hits of 2009. We started after 11 p.m... I didn't make it all the way, while they all finished at 5 a.m.! Ouch.

Tessie Comes To Town!

My college girlfriend Tess was in New York on Saturday with her husband and a couple friends. I haven't seen her in 22 years! She looks better now than she did back in the 1980s! Weather was perfect and we must have walked five miles, from Times Square to Columbus Circle, through Central Park, down Fifth Avenue to the Empire State Building, then back to midtown for lunch and the subway to World Trade Center and Battery Park. Phew! The Empire State Building...Ellis Island... beautiful.
