2011's Sexiest Man Alive: And Now... The Runners Up

Come on, you didn't think I'd leave you hanging for too long, did you? After announcing 2011's Sexiest Man Alive as True Blood machismo-packed Joe Manganiello on December 30, let's now pay homage to the other bountiful hotties on our list that make being gay an almighty pleasure.

Our nominee pool comprised model Jed Hill; 2010 runner up actor William Levy; return nom actor Kellan Lutz; model Michael Barre; an encore from 2010 victor Rodiney Santiago; country singer & model Josey Greenwell; Thor star Chris Hemsworth; and wet dream model Nick Ayler.

And the runners up are...
FIRST RUNNER UP: Rodiney Santiago. No doubt, I just can't get enough of a guy I truly believe is as close to perfection as I've seen... and being that I've had the opportunity to meet the man, I know it's not smoke & mirrors. The beautiful face, eyes and smile, the ideal frame with superb abs and arms, and a torso that's eye catching in a pair of tight undies—in addition to an endearing demeanor as a truly sweet man—keep Rod close to our hearts and a bulls-eye in our purview.
SECOND RUNNER UP: William Levy. It'd be easy enough to say "ditto" to Levy from Santiago's physical description above... Will Levy is a world-class idol in the Latin world, and for good reason. He's simply immaculate.
THIRD RUNNER UP: Josey Greenwell. The pretty boy scores! Country singer and burgeoning model Josey posed with Rodiney this year, which about created a hormonal Nun overload. On his own, the green eyes, youthful frame and beautiful smile score a grade-A beef ranking.
FOURTH RUNNER UP: Nick Ayler. This gay fave model has no problem stripping down to his tightie whities and being jetted with water to reveal every curve and mound. Enough said. *

The Smoking Nun's Sexiest Man Alive 2011: Joe Manganiello

Joseph Michael "Joe" Manganiello may be best known for his role as werewolf Alcide Herveaux on HBO's True Blood, but now the American actor has a new accolade: The Smoking Nun's Sexiest Man Alive for 2011. And a very happy birthday, Joe, who turned 35 this week, on Wednesday, December 28.

And who did Smoking Nun readers vote for? Jed Hill was the surprise favorite, followed by the Nun's 2010 victor Rodiney Santiago, and in third place, Manganiello.

Joe wins this auspicious trophy thanks to his penetrating chestnut eyes, hair that drapes just so over his chiseled face (and looks as good short) and a set of abs that he is gracious enough to share regularly with the world. That's real generosity in The Smoking Nun's playbook.

And he ain't just dripping hot sexy, either. The 6-foot-5-inch Pittsburgh native, who was the captain of his football, basketball, and volleyball teams in high school, is a classically trained actor with a BFA from Carnegie Mellon's School of Drama. Among his breakout roles: Flash Thompson in the Spider Man film franchise and recurring parts on ER, How I Met Your Mother and One Tree Hill.

For his work on True Blood, Manganiello received 2011 Scream Awards for Male Breakout Performance and a shared Best Ensemble trophy; a Saturn Award for Best Guest Starring Role in TV; and a New Now Next Award.

Of course, in 2012, he will play Big Dick Mike in the much anticipated Steven Soderbergh-directed Magic Mike, as well as the upcoming flick What to Expect When You're Expecting.

In 2010 Manganiello was named one of People mag's sexiest men alive, was ranked No. 1 on Men's Health's best Summer Bodies of 2011, "one of the World's 25 Fittest Guys" by Men's Fitness, and the winner of Us Weekly's 2011 "Sharp Dressed Man" Award. He was also named the summer of 2011's Hottest Male Supernatural Being by Entertainment Weekly.

Encore!!! 2010's runner-up for Sexiest Man Alive William Levy (a hair behind Rodiney Santiago) fulfilled 2011 with a red-hot calendar and constant presence in Latino pop culture, as he wrapped his role in telenovela Triunfo del Amor, made a cultural event out of Jennifer Lopez's music video for "I'm Into You" and for the fifth time, was named one of People en Español's Most Beautiful. He made a horrid strategic error in turning down a role in Magic Mike, his potential foray into Hollywood, and shaved his head in 2011. But we still love the guy.
JOE MANGANEILLO

HBO's True Blood co-lead Joe Manganeillo, whom I'm frothing all over in his role as Big Dick Richie in 2012's Magic Mike, plain and simple, offers the full package: machismo, beautiful brown eyes, great sweeping hair, packed jeans and of course, those delish abs. So handsome. Ooh la la!

KELLAN LUTZ

Kellan Lutz is another 2011 encore, following a number of fitness covers and delectable photo shoots. He's on the verge of becoming toooo muscular, a la steroid king, but as long as he maintains those radiant blue eyes, Kellan is in the running.

MICHAEL BARRE

Ruff!! Model Michael Barre is all a man oughta be—and, indeed, everything a gay enjoys ogling. Do we even have to list his attributes? A stunning face, a body worthy of naughty porn, a teasing smile and lord have mercy, he does appear to fill his britches, yes?

RODINEY SANTIAGO

Welcome back, Rod! 2010's Sexiest Man Alive definitely kept the fire burning in 2011, with a constant flow of new modeling gigs, including Rufskin, in addition to countless personal appearances, including several in NYC, where I was able to say howdy to this surprisingly sweet, sincere swath of perfection. Rodiney earned high marks on a monthly picturesque basis—not to mention being the most-visited presence on The Smoking Nun all year, alongside William Levy. Could Rodiney score a two-for-two Sexiest Man of the Year victory? Take a look at that face & bod and you tell me.

JOSEY GREENWELL

Out-and-proud country singer and model Josey Greenwell was raised in Kentucky, won the Colgate Country Showdown in 2006 and was signed to a record deal in Nashville at age 19. When the label discovered that Greenwell is gay, he was promptly dropped. Now the 23-year-old singer is finding his own way, thanks to a shitload of gay press and a promising modeling career. He covered DNA mag and the 2012 Sparticus Travel Guide this year with... our beloved Rodiney Santiago.

Talk about winning the beautiful man lottery. Nick Ayler was born in Las Vegas, and moved 18 times by the time he graduated from high school. As a model, he has graced campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch, TYORI menswear and Apple, as well as modeling for DNA, Mens Exercise and Bello. He's appeared in flicks Holy Rollers & Fighting, and TV shows Army Wives & Mercy. He also happens to be one of the most delectable men I have ever seen in my long long life.

Smoking Hot Jed Hill Returns For A Second Session With The Nun

It was nearly a month ago when we met our latest, greatest Sexiest Man Alive, Jed Hill, a 26-year-old former Penn State football player who decided the world would be better served by his dedication to fitness and underwear modeling.

He returns with some new pics that we secured during our trip together for a shoot in Italy. Jed is so funny, cool cats. He loves to put ice in his Corn Flakes and talks in his sleep. My favorite memory is how he would hang his underwear over a flagpole in the window each night before we'd go to bed, and it would wave in the wind as he yelled out, "Buena Notte!" Ha, ha, he sure knows how to make me giggle.                                                                           And then... I woke up...
