David Beckham's Fall 2012 campaign for his H&M Bodywear line reveals that the man's prominent bulge continues to be a source of pride for the soccer player.

Honestly, this makes Calvin Klein's undies ads from the 1980s look like white bread.

A webbie search for "David Beckham" and "H&M" brings up the word "bulge" almost without exception, from even the most respected mainstream sites. There's just no denying this man's worldly attributes, is there? Hey, no complaints here! Bring it on, sir. *

Vintage Victory! The Ambassador Double Burger & Sandwich Maker

As an ever-resourceful shopper, one of my favorite destinations is Unique Thrift Store in Downtown Brooklyn. Last week I gamboled around the premises for goodies and happened upon a vintage double burger cooker/sandwich maker that had to have been from the late 1970s.

When I opened the box, I was giddily amazed to discover that the item had never been used. All of the original packing was in place, it was pristine clean and even included the little recipe booklet. It was almost too good to be true. Perhaps the only thing better was the price: $7.99. Oh, come on, how could I resist?

Not only is the Ambassador "Burger & Sandwich Maker Double Size" capable of cooking burgers in one minute, but you can also make grilled cheese sandwiches and tuna melts, while using the "grill" to cook eggs, bacon and steaks. Eureka!

Once I brought my prize home, I searched the web for retro ads and any info I could find about the appliance... I found nothing, except one newspaper advert from a department store in 1978 offering the item on sale for $24.88.

On Friday, I cooked my first burger, and indeed it was better than any previous means I've used with modern technology. George Foreman Grill is a mess to try and clean, while a frying pan makes a spattered mess of the simple task. Of course, there are comparable devices made today, but every once in a while, they got it right way back when. And retro... even better. Delish! *

French Swimmer Camille Lacourt Almost Gets Nekid In Italian Advert

Professional French backstroke swimmer Camille Lacourt may not have participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics, but the 27-year-old definitely wins a medal for his racy new commercial for Edison, an Italian electricity & gas company. In the spot, he enjoys a hot, scintillating bath with his paws all over his... iPad. The rest is all giggles, as he's interrupted when an announcer steps in to remind Lacourt to pay his energy bill. Can you imagine an advert like this in the conservative U.S.? Sadly, no way. *

David Beckham's Bulge Towers 10-Feet Tall In NYC

H&M bulge model David Beckham, has released a second promotion for his Bodywear lines of undies at Swedish retailer H&M. This coincides with a 10-foot-tall silver statue of the soccer star at locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. In NYC, three of the statues are inside stores and three standing tall on the streets of the city, begging to be man-handled.

His second set of ads launches today, with new products to be added to the collection this fall.

"I'm very happy that people seem to like it and the first season was successful," Beckham says, while lightly touching his mammoth goodies. "The challenge is to keep it going and establish a brand that will last many years. That is my ambition." Ambition is certainly a apropos word to describe the attributes of Mr. Beckham. *

Michael Phelps sitting "seductively" sprawled in a bathtub... for the first timing ever showing off what bulge there is to be had... with his Louis Vuitton tote casually sitting gently beside him... Sorry, no dice.

Perhaps if the world's greatest ever in the whole universe athlete were appearing in ads for sugar cubes or horse-grooming products, I'd be convinced.

But trying to sex up one of the more unattractive men alive ain't working no way, no how. Phelps should stick to the Wheaties box. Pawning real-life high-end products is as convincing as Miss Piggy selling a Mercedes Benz (and not that altogether different come to think of it... Pig, horse... farmyard...). *

There Is No Good To Come From Owning A Gun

Despite hailing from the South, I've never understood the reasoning behind any individual wanting or needing to own a gun. What good is ever going to come from it? I was taken aback to find this advert in the August/September 2012 issue of Garden & Gun magazine... which is kind-of sort-of like a modern-generation Southern Living.

The pub's title is meant to be ironic and it's a fine periodical about food & travel and such... but seeing this ad on page 9 in the current issue is jarring, if not wholly disturbing: "Childhood Dreams Can Come True." The idea that passing your giant killer rifle down from generation to generation... and teaching your kids to be proud of ownership is more like a nightmare, if you ask me.

This may be the only time that I actually agree with NYC Mayor Bloomberg, who has always been an opponent of semi-automatic weapons, and is renewing his call for a nationwide ban. *

Caesars Palace Hypes Shania Twain Show—By Relying On Celine's Rep

Caesars Palace has released a commercial promoting Shania Twain's upcoming Las Vegas residency, along with the posh new Nobu Hotel tower (that Celine Dion's ongoing residency no doubt bankrolled). Shania's "Still the One" show is set to launch at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace December 1. She'll rotate with Celine, Elton John and Rod Stewart.

Obviously, the hotel recognizes that its reputation as a world-class live concert mecca has everything to do with Celine's persistent sell-out concert presence... and thus she appears in the spot. Man, oh man, Celine looks beautiful.

Meanwhile, here's a news flash: Apparently, Ne-Yo is collaborating with Celine Dion on her upcoming English album Water and a Flame. He shared on his Instagram page a pic of the pair hugging during a late-night studio session, writing, "The incomparable Celine Dion!! In the studio doing something epic. God is good. Music is good, all the time."

This isn't the first time that Ne-Yo and Celine have worked together: He wrote the wonderfully intense "I Got Nothing Left" for her previous album Taking Chances. *

William Levy is inviting America to "have a fling with flavor" with the launch of two new Pepsi tastes. Available only this summer, Pepsi Cherry Vanilla and Paradise Mango flavors were revealed by Will at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, Calif. Sounds utterly revolting, doesn't it?

Levy says (but, of course, didn't really say) via a press release: "Summer is the perfect time to dial up the flavor in your life, from adventures to what you eat and drink, which is why I'm excited to help Pepsi launch two new flavored colas inspired by my favorite season. I've been a Pepsi drinker all my life." Yeah, yeah, just smile for the camera, my beautiful man. *

Our very favorite athlete (I can assure you those are three words I have never uttered in my life) Tom Daley is gaining the attention of advertisers as the cute-as-a-whip 18-year-old Brit Olympic diver garners his first endorsement deal. Take a look at his commercial for Adidas... which is sadly, rather uninspired. But at least it opens the door for more—like print campaigns. In Speedos! Daley will, of course, be competing at the London games this summer. I might actually watch... sports. A Day At The Beach: William Levy's Latest Advert For Papas Sabritas

William Levy's series of Spanish-language commercials for Lays Potato Chips (a la Papas Sabritas) continue their forward-moving storyline, as our man heads to the beach—thankfully shirtless (although his turquoise bathing suit is way too conservative)... only to be followed by the chip-munching cop who continues to swipe Will's chips.

Cleverly, there's even a lil' dance move here, an obvious allusion to his recent star-making appearance on ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Quite a subtle vibe of eroticism here... but then again, we are talking about Willy, the Sexiest Man Alive. *
