Hurricane Irene: Brooklyn, Saturday @ Noon

At noon, a gentle sprinkle is falling intermittently in Brooklyn... Hurricane Irene has already been downgraded from a category 3 to 2 to 1 storm, but New York public transit still came to a grinding halt at noon... Above, dogs still have to be walked, no matter how much of a bitch Irene becomes; and tourists are still crowding along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade... Below, a deserted Coney Island, which has been mandated as one of several evacuation zones in NYC.
