Bloomberg Dumps Record Amount To Buy Third Mayoral Term

Only two weeks ago, New York dictator Michael Bloomberg had spent $65 million to blanket the city with propaganda about "all he's done for the middle class." Now, apparently running more scared than ever, he has broken his own spending record from four years ago, dropping $85.2 million on his campaign for an illegal third term, with 11 days to go until Election Day.

That amounts to more than $850,000 a day—more than many presidential bids! Granted, the city's richest man is spending his own money, but obviously he must realize that his opponent, Bill Thompson, is running a credible campaign... though, of course, the latter doesn't hold a prayer of a chance of winning.

Frankly, I'm sick of being bombarded by Bloomberg ads no matter where I turn: TV, radio, my mailbox, newspapers, magazines and the Internet—including ads on this very blog, despite my vehement opposition to a mayor who is wholly disenfranchised to the average New Yorker.

If he had donated one-tenth of his record spending to the city instead of tossing money for ads so that he can "play mayor" for four more years, this city would be on its way to thriving, instead of dealing with a mayor who wants to nickel and dime every taxpayer until they're forced to desert their homes in the midst of his maniacal reign.
