What a posh cover portrait of Meryl Streep on the January 2012 U.S. Vogue, which hits newsstands tomorrow, December 20. It certainly is nice to see an image other than her already mega-hyped promotional pics as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, which hits theaters in limited release December 30 (for Oscar consideration) and explodes wide open January 13.
This is Streep's first Vogue cover (she has appeared on Vogue
Paris), taken by Annie Liebovitz, which she posed for while in Washington preparing for a role
as spokesperson for the soon-to-open National Women's History Museum...
Meanwhile, the 62-year-old actress also fronts this week's Newsweek as... yawn... Thatcher. Much preferred: Her January 7, 1980 cover...
