Among all albums by women, 21 ties Whitney Houston's self-titled 1986 debut for the third-most weeks at No. 1, behind Houston's Bodyguard soundtrack (at 20 weeks in 1992-1993) and Carole King's Tapestry (15 weeks in 1971). In addition, Adele's debut album 19 also bounds back up the album chart, 17-11.
On the singles side, my fave "Set Fire To the Rain" at last earns stateside props, catapulting 13-7 on the Hot 100, while former No. 1 "Someone Like You" slides gently from 7-8. Amazingly, the No. 1 song of 2011 "Rolling in the Deep" rebounds from 41 back into the 40, at No. 35... I cannot wait for the Grammy Awards, cool cats. *
