At this point, it's hard to believe that since May, I have already exhausted more than half of my state-granted unemployment benefits—with just more than $5,000 paid out—mind you, after contributing to the system since my first job in 1983... working as a pizza cook, then in college for the school newspaper, where I also paid taxes toward unemployment; and of course, ever since I joined the fulltime working world in 1984. So for the past =25= years of contributing toward unemployment, now that I need it, I am granted all of $10,400 total before my benes run out. Isn't that sweet?
