Bye Bye, BusinessWeek

When billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg purchased BusinessWeek last October, I knew it meant the end of any modicum of balanced reporting at the long-lived weekly mag. To make matters worse, the closet queen then had the gall to lay off 130 veteran staffers—which I couldn't help but take personally.

After receiving the issue below, I phoned the magazine's circ department and explained that having BusinessWeek commandeered by Bloomberg was as credible as Rupert Murdoch's ultra-conservative smack-down on The Wall Street Journal, and I canceled my longtime subscription. In this instance, the potential death of a print publication is wholly justified.
