Sunday In The City

A stunning day to haul my heinie into Manhattan, first for a shopping spree at H&M, to spend the $150 Christmas gift card that's been burning a hole in my wallet for the past four months. Two new pairs of jeans, two shirts and 17, count 'em, 17 pairs of socks... Onward to Rockefeller Center to watch skaters at play......Amid a mob scene of tourists soaking up the city sun.Hey, there's Mickey! Not exactly the Easter Bunny, but the kiddies didn't seem to mind. (The parents likely did, since this is a common scam in the city: Folks dress up like Disney characters, then refuse pictures unless you pay them. Quite clever, I say.)I headed downtown for drinks with a handsome man at stalwart gay tavern Ty's, which has been in biz for nearly 40 years, god bless 'em... Hey, look, there's the Easter Bunny, walking in the West Village.I knew that fellow was queer! And finally, dinner outside at a local haunt just off Christopher Street. Divine, indeed.
