NYC Vintage Image Of The Day: Flatiron Building

The iconic 22-story Flatiron Building was the only skyscraper north of 14th Street when it was completed in 1902. The Beaux-Arts style building sits on a triangular block at Fifth Avenue, Broadway and East 22nd Street and borders Madison Square Park.
Extreme winds around its sharp corners created the expression, "23 Skidoo," when cops would shout at dudes for looking up women's dresses as they caught the breeze. While Donna Mae was in town, we walked from High Line Park on the West Side through Chelsea and over to the Flatiron District. The photos below, taken by Mae and meese, were edited using High Digital Resolution enhancement.
