Global Turkish diva Sertab and partner Demir delivered a stone-solid sold-out performance at New York's Joe's Pub Thursday, March 19, to an enthused audience of steadfast Turkish and new American fans, singing selections from her upcoming June English-language album "Painted On Water," which primarily comprises modern arrangements of Turkish standards.
Ayhan Sahin and I had the pleasure of a hello before the show, along with Emre Yilmaz—our dear friend and recent Billboard spotlight artist—who sang background vocals with Sertab when he was 13! It's a small world, after all.
