A new Public Policy Poll reveals that voters in the Bible belt states of Alabama and Mississippi are 
convinced that the President of the United States is, for sure, absolutely, you betcha... a Muslim.
A staggering 52% of Mississippi respondents ahead of today’s presidential primary believe the false notion that Christian President Barrack Obama worships Allah, according to a story in the New York Daily News. Another 36% said they ain’t sure.In Alabama, 45% responded "yepper" to the same question, while 41% said yuk yuk, they dunno.
"I don’t have an explanation for that," said pollster Jim Williams. "You’re dealing with an extremely conservative portion of the electorate in two extremely conservative states." Mississippi and Alabama are also deeply religious states that generally rank at or close to the bottom in most state education rankings.
Meanwhile, 66% of Mississippians surveyed by PPP say they don’t believe in evolution, as did 60% of people in Alabama. And in these states, bigoted asswipe talk show gost Rush Limbaugh is an admired figure, with 53% having a favorable opinion in ole Miss, and 51% in Mississippi. Go figger. *
