Clever As A Foxx

I'll be the first to admit that perhaps I speak from ignorance—for all I know "The Soloist" is the finest cinematic achievement since "The Wizard of Oz"—but on the surface, the idea of Jamie Foxx, a former two-bit comedian from Fox's "In Living Color," continuing to propel forward as a "fine actor" is his greatest farce.

Foxx was utterly dreadful as "Ray," and a mere distraction in "Dreamgirls." And now, his recording career has reached new heights, as “Blame It,” featuring T-Pain, scores an 11th record-tying week atop the Billboard urban chart (alongside TLC’s 1999 “No Scrubs"). It's also No. 1 at Rhythmic and top 10 at top 40. Okay, one word here to explain his success: T-Pain.

Clever as a Foxx, but lucky as a dog. The cinematic and musical chart pool are blurred with lackluster talent, at best.

  3. I still haven't forgiven him for his rude and uncalled for rant on Miley Cyrus. Ugly.
