According to AP, Boyle, 47, had her graying, frizzy hair dyed chestnut brown and styled for $50 dollars. on YouTube and I confess, I'm still watching it every day—and still get a little misty. Meanwhile, in typical pop culture fashion, there's a nasty little backlash in tow, as is always the case for anything that gets too big too fast. And therein is exactly why this event is so refreshing: For once, the cynics are put in their place. And that includes my propensity toward the occasional (ahem) snarky interpretation of things happening in the world. This continues to be a beautiful thing. I just wish the show would release a recording. That'll be the best 99 cents I spend.
I fully agree with you that something happens to quickly to someone, it goes awry. People are trying in every way to make this into something more than a woman showing off her talent. It is btaking away from her astonishing talent, and it disappoints. There are many artists out there (like The Band IceBloc) that can appreciate talent like this and truly admire her for her talent.
