Hamptons Diary: Sunday

This is admittedly getting a little ridiculous... I'm trying to find time to work—no, really—but this weekend was a non-stop parade of charity events, house parties, dinners by the pool and beautiful drives through South, Bridge and Easthampton. Okay, okay, hate me, I get it, because when I read this post a month from now, I know full well that I will look at this very entry with self-contempt, once I'm back in the friggin' real world... But meanwhile...After a late Saturday night at Madame Tong's, um, I didn't feel particularly well this morning... Liz D. knocked on my door for a goddamn 11 a.m. birthday party for a 4-year-old in Easthampton. Onward...Stunning ride, perfect weather...The windmill entering Easthampton...To our destination, East Hampton Point reaturant on Three Mile Harbor Road....Where we not only had a delicious brunch, but...as one apparently does for a child that can't even yet read in the Hamptons, there were a (temp) tattoo artist, caricaturist, tarot card reader and magician... Here, our buddy Caroline is dumbfounded by a slight of hand from the magician on right. And then came desert... as Liz D. and I met Maximiliano Palacio, an Argentian polo player turned model/actor...So you know when you meet a guy that is so beautiful you can't wait to fantasize about him... and then you find out that he's charming, smart, conversational, even humble... and it ruins everything. Yeah, that would be the case... Stand by, because Max reappears in the evening, sans shirt!Yeah, one more with Max, full body... He's right pretty, yes?And on the way out, just another Rolls Royce in the Hamptons. Yawn...Afterward, Liz. D. and I stopped by Leonard's house, where he was hosting the second day of his yard sale. Here's the doggie lamp that I adored... priced at $100. My offer of $0 did not impress Leonard.More goods at Leonard's...Geez, Sunday had yet another chapter at Caroline's, who hosted a spontaneous pool party for nine, including fucking fabulous publicist Tony Vargas and his client... Max!! Turns out that Max was in several episodes of this season's "Real Housewives of New York."Dinner was served, as always, flawlessly...With all dogs in tow... here. Liz D. with Coco and Jasmine...And of course Caroline's Mumbai, who now has his own blog. And then the ultimate payoff, as Max took his shirt off... what a moment, as the ladies lined up along the pool fell to silence... It was as if Max walked into the pool in slow motion. Sadly, when I dared to steal a photo, I got nothing but a blur...Fortunately, wherever Max goes, the paparazzi is seduced; his calling card is that he dated Kelly, the second-season celeb on "The Real Housewives of New York," and appeared in several episodes. That was enough for the photogs to declare him a namesake, as he develops a TV pilot. Stand by, Max is destined for mainstream fame in the near future. And you saw it here first!Halloween 2008.And that, cool cats, is a wrap. Why am I still sweating?
