Lady Gaga wanted to make sure that her New York little monsters were well aware of the release Monday of new album Born This Way. In addition to a private signing in Union Square, she had a subway car on the 42nd Street shuttle wrapped Gaga-liciously.In addition to Born This Way inevitably toppling Adele's No. 1 album 21 after eight weeks, Gaga recently ass-kicked Oprah Winfrey out of the top spot on Forbes’ annual “Celebrity 100” list, which measures power by entertainment-related earnings, media visibility and social media popularity. I bet Oprah really gag(a)ged on that one.
In addition, amazon's nifty 99-cent full album download on Monday froze the company’s servers by mid-afternoon, thanks to overwhelming activity (including meese, thanks).
Billboard estimates Born This Way will sell between 500,000 and 750,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week. I say they are underestimating the zeal of Gaga's reach. We'll see in seven days.
So cool! Wish I could have seen that :)
