We're gonna ignore the fact that Sarah Palin is 45 today and turn attention to a real heroine: Tina Louise, who turns 75.The Brooklyn-born model, singer and actress loathed her role as Ginger Grant on "Gilligan's Island" (1964-1967), but I sure loved her for it. Who knew the part was turned down by Jayne Mansfield? In 2005, TV Land ranked her second only to Heather Locklear as TV's greatest all-time sex symbol. Girl, hold your head high.
I saw her several years ago at an art opening in Chelsea and while weathered, she was certainly recognizable. That was right cool.P.S. Jennifer Aniston is 40 today. Hey, she has a hit movie with the man-hating "He's Just Not That Into You," which almost makes up for the fact that she's dating mommy's boy John Mayer.
