NYC Image Of The Day: Lower Manhattan From The BK Bridge, 1914

In 1914, pedestrians stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge toward the Park Row Terminal, flanked by a Manhattan-bound BMT Railway line to their right—which, of course, no longer exists anymore along the pedestrian walkway on the bridge. Beyond, the grand City Hall building looms to the right, with the Woolworth Buildingon the left. Until around the middle of the last century, both the subway and streetcars passed across the Brooklyn Bridge. (Photo: NYC Vintage Images)
