One Night Only: Call Me Teach

Looks like I can add another line to my list of "To All The Jobs I've Loved Before." Tonight I had the pleasure of addressing the spring 2011 Music Marketing Class from NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, led by Susan Nunziata, my former managing editor at Billboard. She invited me to talk to her class about record biz marketing... the good, the bad, the ugly.

I brought up three case studies: Adele, The Fray and Naomi Striemer, as examples of artists who found—or didn't—success through conventional and non-conventional means within the label machine.

Good clean fun. Why haven't I considered a full-time career in teaching music and communications? Oh, that's right... because they're getting laid off en masse, just like journalists. Sigh.
