Fire Island: Labor Day Weekend/Sunday Up On The Roof

Sunday early evening, with Ayhan now on premises, Gene & Steve took us to the home of Gloria & Stephen, who own the largest house in Fire Island's Grove. We went to the rooftop where the views were absolutely killer.

 Here's Gene & Steve's cottage from high in the sky.

Much of the foliage has turned brown, we're told, because of the salt water that sprayed across the island during Hurricane Irene. It looks like fall, eh?

This shows just how narrow Fire Island is: on the left is the bay and on the right the Atlantic Ocean.
