And Now Some REAL News... Angola Beauty Crowned Miss Universe

Leila Lopes/Miss Universe
Monday evening's 60th annual Miss Universe Pageant allowed all 27 viewers around the world to forget their worries and the conundrums plaguing the globe... as Leila Lopes from Angola was awarded the crown.

Just like President Obama, Lopes said she hopes the victory will allow the 25-year-old to help defeat her nation's history of war and impoverishment. I figure she will probably be as effective as Obama, right?
Miss USA's sweetly subtle "national costume."
More important, she shared with reporters her three tips for beauty: a lot of sleep, use sun block even when it's not sunny and drink lots of water. She said her smile was her best weapon in the competition.

Lopes trumped 88 competitors to win the title. The runners-up were from Ukraine, Brazil, Philippines and China. USA's candidate was Alyssa Campanella from California. An American was last named Miss Universe in 1997. The 2010 winner was Ximena Navarrete of Mexico.

The Miss Universe pageant was broadcast live on NBC and aired in 170 countries. It is co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC.
