Watching VH1 Classic's "Totally '80s" and I almost felt a ribbon of heat in our frigid apartment when Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is A Place On Earth" twirled across the screen. This is her only No. 1 in America, from 1987, and what a joyous romp it is. Belinda had exited the GoGo's and lost a good deal of weight, dyed her hair red and married. She was in a great place. The video, directed by Diane Keaton, is packed with beautiful shots of Carlisle's newly defined cheekbones, along with all those damn globes. Gorgeous... but how can this be 20 years ago?
