It's my 15th New Year's Eve in New York and the closest I've ever gotten to spending it in Times Square was in 2002, when Ayhan, Strele and I went to a Broadway show in the nabe, then quickly retreated underground and returned to Brooklyn Heights. It snowed this morning in NYC—looks like it's done—but I have as much desire to share New Year's with 1 million freezing strangers as I do with your mama's permed wig.
Instead, Ayhan, Tinatin and I will join Francie and Nick on the Upper West Side for a quieter celebration with our own booze, a big bowl of homemade chili and heat! Happy new year to all you cool cats.(photo: Countdown Entertainment, LLC)
